The Jailbreaking Wizard will quickly determine if your iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, or Apple TV is jailbreakable. If your device can be jailbroken, simply click on the link provided in the results to download the specified tool. Remember to back up your device using iTunes or iCloud to recover your data just in case something should happen.
Untethered or Tethered
An Untethered Jailbreak lets you reboot your device as often as you like and requires no connection to your computer. If the battery dies you can recharge it and boot as usual. An untethered jailbreak is always the best option.
A Tethered Jailbreak requires the aid of the jailbreak application to restore functionality to your device. If the battery dies or the device reboots by accident, your device will be inoperable until you perform a tethered boot which requires access to your computer.
After jailbreaking you’ll see an application called Cydia on your springboard, this was installed automatically during the Jailbreaking. Cydia enables a user to find and install applications on jailbroken iOS devices that are usually unavailable at the App Store due to restrictions. Applications available through Cydia offer greater customization options, most are free, and some require purchasing. Your device will also retain all normal functions, including access to iTunes and the App Store. The jailbreak process is also reversible by using the restore function in iTunes.
